Lake Purdy, Birmingham

     Lake Purdy, located on the Jefferson and Shelby County line, is a 1,050 acre water reservoir owned by the City of Birmingham's Water Works Board and is open to the public for recreational use.

     Although Lake Purdy does not allow private fishing boats, there is an authorized boat and equipment rental center located on Hwy 119 which offers day and night boat rentals. You may rent a standard boat, a boat with a trolling motor, or a boat with a 10 hp outboard engine. You can also bring any motor up to 10 hp.

     Lake Purdy may be accessed along Hwy 119 (Cahaba Valley Road) and Hwy 143 (Grants Mill Road). The boat rental area is along Hwy 119, look for the signs. You may access Lake Purdy by taking I-459 and exiting on the "Grants Mill Road" exit or Take Hwy 280 and turn onto Hwy 119.

Canoe - 2 person capacity, standard aluminum canoe, life jackets
	and paddles
Standard Boat - 3 person capacity, standard aluminum jon boat,
	life jackets and paddles
Premium Boat - 4 person capacity, live well, front casting deck,
	life jackets and paddles
Bass/Crappie Boat - fully equiped with bow mount trolling motor,
	live wells, fish finder, padded seats, anchor, carpeted
	interior, and life jackets
Pontoon Boat - 10 person capacity, anchor, and life jackets
